1.9 CM AND 1.8 CM CYST WITH QUESTION OF SOME INTERNAL ECHOGENICITY (OVARIES)

by CARLITA, Jun 07, 2007 12:00AM
WHAT EXACTLY DOES THIS MEAN?
ALSO I HAVE A 4 CM OVARIAN CYST WITH QUESTIONABLE MURAL NODULARITY AND QUESTIONABLE SMALL PERIPHERAL SEPTATION? HELP ME??

by Annekathryn Goodman, M.D., Jun 08, 2007 12:00AM
Hi Carlita,
These are small cysts. A cyst is a fluid collection with a skin around it like a blister. If there is some solid tissue within the cyst, it is called a nodule. A septation means there is a dividing wall within the cyst. For that small size, the usual recommendation is to repeat an ultrasound in 3 months
take care
