28 YR old prewgnant wife, squamous carcinoma

  My pregnant wife 28 yrs old and 12 weeks pregnant, had left ovay and portion of falopian tube removed with large dumoid cyst. Diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. We will be seeing specialist next week.

  How fast can this cancer matastcis? Can or should we wait 13 weeks to ensure a healthy c-section? This will be my first child, my parents only grand child, I am 42, but will not risk the love of my life to carry the family name.

  At 25 weeks our doc says we can start some loe level chemo, then steroids to help baby mature, then c-section bfore hard core chemo.  

  I am soooo scared.

When my mom was being treated for the squamous cell arising from a dermoid cyst, it metatisized very quickly.  My mom's had all been contained in the ovary, not outside on the tube.  She was staged as stage 1.  Some of the cells must have broken out during the surgery, because in less than 8 weeks, she had a second surgery anticipating a bowel resection and they found 5-7 golf ball sized tumors throughout her abdomen and bowels.  They weren't there during the original surgery.  She started chemo 3 weeks after that, and unfortunately the chemo did not work and she lost her battle 12 weeks after the second surgery that had removed all those 5-7 golf ball sized tumors that were visible to the surgeon during the 2nd surgery.

I am so very sorry that you and your young wife are dealing with this.  I sent you a note as well.

I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and praying for a recovery for your wife and the baby.
