2cysts left ovary in pain. What are my options?

Hi I am new to this site. I have read some things that were posted on here and I too have questions and am hoping to get some answers or at least more than I am being given.

I am 28 now but back in April of 2003 I was 24 and had a tubaligation done (decided we were done with our family of 2 boy & girl). Prior to the surgery the doctor had told me that I had to sign a release allowing them to remove any other objects they might have found while doing the surgery. So I was surprised when she showed me pictures of the surgery and my ovaries to see a nickle sized bubble sticking out of my left ovary. But the dr told me that was normal while menstruating to have a cyst and it would dissolve within a couple of weeks. I felt uncomfortable about it then but I felt confident with my Dr.'s comments so I went on with life.
I have miserable & extremely heavy and painfulperiods which I hadn't experienced before. and very uncomfortable in the pelvic area. And for the last year I would say extrmeley uncomfortable on a daily basis. Bloated and painful.I can even feel a large lump in the left side. On my routine physical a new dr told me that I needed to get an ultrasound as she felt a fibroid so oct 3rd I had my ultrasound. The dr asst. called yesterday and is referring me to an OBGYN to discuss the results with me but I got out of her that I had 2 cysts on my left ovary. I am scared.I know everyone tells me oh it is normal and they will just give me bc pills to desolve.
What are my options and what ?s should I ask. I can't play the waiting game

Any advice is appreciated!
thx

Thank you for your comments. Wow I am sorry for your sufferings! And here I am complaining. I appreciate your kindness to even jot me a note! I went to my appt yesterday and they decided to give me a shot of Lupron and see if that does anything to help with my pain.  From there they plan to do a procedure called endometrial ablation. It could possibly put me in menopause early?. Not sure if that was what I was expecting..  I was actually more concerned with these cysts and my left side pain..
The dr. does not seem too concerned with the cysts but more the heavy bleeding.

She also mentioned the pain that I am feeling could be a bowel issue?  So I guess this isn't something that will be solved in one day.

Thank  you for the support and the reccomendations....

Hi, I know how you feel.  When i was 11 i had an ovarian cyst the size of a soccer ball and had it and my right ovary removed.  I thought that was it and then at at 28, Jan of this year with out any symptoms, I found out I had ovarian cancer from a cyst on my left ovary.  I have no children and want them so I opted to keep my ovary and went through chemo.  It was not as bad as I expected, you have to have a positive attitude.  Well I thought all was well and I too was experiencing abdominal pain on my left side.  I went and got it checked only to find out that I have another cyst.  Now I have to wait a month and get another sono to see if it shrinks.  What I am trying to say with all of this is too be strong, follow your feelings and know that it is TRUE, that MANY women get cysts and you just need to keep an eye on it. Not all are bad but always flollow up with doctors.  I live on LI and if anyone ever needs a GREAT doctor, visit Long Island Gyno. Oncology, online.  They are AMAZING!!
