2nd time around for an ultrasound

On 1-21-12 went to the ER for abnormal bleeding, a transvaginal ultrasound and a pelvic ultra sound was done. At that time I had cramping, pain in pelvic area. Doctor found a 3.5cm cyst on my right ovary, and endometrium hyperplasia. My doc scheduled me for a d & C and possible laprascopy. My post surgery appt. the doc said he got everything and I was fine.
On 4-14-12 went to my PCP due to a lump on my right breast, and pain in my pelvic area. My doc said that I only had the d & c and no cyst was removed. Had a pelvic ultrasound and a breast ultrasound as well as a mammo. Nurse called today and said that the doc wants me to re do the pelvic exam in 3 months. I asked what the results were, but she couldnt give those over the phone. Results will be in on the breast by the time I go to my doc appt to get results.

Why should I wait 3 months to have another ultrasound? what if I have the same cyst in my ovary since January ultrasound found? kind of nervous to take this for an answer, wanting so bad to get another opinion.

Hi There
It all sounds somewhat confusing
I would suggest you get copies of your pathology reports and the operative note from surgery
in addition, you need to have copies of your ultrasounds

I am a big advocate for people having copies of their medical reports and I have said this on this forum many times.

Even if you do not understand all the words, you will have a better understanding of what is going on.
also that way if you ever see other doctors, you can bring your own reports for review.

right now what you need is to sit down with your doctor and the medical reports and go over them carefully to be sure you understand exactly what is going on.

it may be fine and a repeat ultrasound in three months is a standard recommendation.

best wishes
