You can ask about Doxil and Eloxatin. Eloxatin was used 'off label' with Doxil with extremely good results (only 2% of the study group had progressive disease, 30% stable and the rest had some sort of response...impressive!)

I was placed on doxil and carbo for my 1 recurrance, the choice was based on a study that had good results out of Europe. I have had 5 rounds, without much problem, clear scan after 3. Can't depend upon my CA 125 of 5 cause it was 4 when I recurred. good luck
Be sure you google the Doxil web site before you start the chemo, Leslee is on Doxil and we found out how to avoid some of the side effects. Get some COQ10 to protect your heart. No hot food or drinks, no tight clothes, use the cooling to hands and feet during chemo, this prevents 94% of the Foot and Hand problems, ice chips to suck on during infusion, make sure the person doing the injection gets into the vein and does not let the chemo get into the surrounding tissue, Leslee did not know about the F&H thing and was completely diabled for weeks with the foot breakout. Her rings caused blisters on her hands, tight jeans caused a red rash around her waist, don't wash dishes in hot water, avoid rubber gloves, cool showers, she takes quite a few other suppliments with this also to maintain her strength. As to whether it will work or not, I don't have that answer. We are trying to get them to add Femara to her chemo, no luck so far on this. Ask about the dosage levels, they had to lower hers this last time, Good Luck with this and I will keep checking if you have any other questions. Marty
