44 after chemo

I just completed 8 rounds of chemotherapy for stage 3c ovca and my ca125 is 44.  I'm shocked.  What are the possibilities?  My doctors told me I'd be fine.  Look forward to hearing from anyone.
I'll take the good with the bad

Thanks.

my count was 179 and went immediately down to 79 after surgery and 61 after first chemo.  the chemo did not make me sick, just listless, appetiteless and sleepless.  I believe the side effects were worse after nupegen which is drug used to maintain white cell count.  Personally, it was tolerable.  Another side effect was itching in my hands and feet which was more of a neuropathy than an actual itch, but Benedryl worked pretty good on it.  Anymore questions, please feel free to contact me.

I was just diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer after my hysterectemy 2 1/2 weeks ago.  I am facing chemo and radiation.  Can you tell me a little about the chemo and did it make you sick?  My CA125 going into the surgery was 117.  My doctor was surprised that it turned out to be cancerous and a stage III.

Hello... what type of chemo did you have the 8 rounds of?How high was your CA.125 before you started the chemo? I had 6 rounds of Carbo/Taxotere, and my CA.125 dropped from 1100 to 12, where is stayed for almost 10 months, but then started to rise. I'm in the middle of the same combo now, and it's gone from 7500 to 3533 after two treatments, so hopefully I'll hit a 12 again.
I'm just curious that after 8 rounds the CA.125 hasn't dropped below the magic 35.
Maybe some of the other girls here will have some thoughts on this also.
Wishing you all the best...*hugs*.....Helmar...
