A little worried have the symptoms

28 year old, with one child three years old!  Okay for the past almost two weeks I have had abnormal bleeding (had a normal period Jan. 25, began to bleed heavily on Feb 8, time for my normal period in Feb had brown watery discharge), abdominal swelling and distention (looking about four months pregnant), pressure and fullness, and just a general uncomfortable feeling.  I have had an extensive history of large ovarian cysts for about 10 years.  I have had my right ovary removed two years ago.  In September 07 I had a lap to remove cysts off the left ovary and clean out endometriosis as well.  A month later had a pelvic MRI ( due to chronic low back pain) It showed a left adnexal mass 5cmx4cmx5cm which deviated the utereus.  The report said it could be a complex cyst. A month later went to obgyn for pelvic u/s, he said it went down to 3cm and would continue to watch it.  Which brings me to my current situation.  A week and half ago my stomach began to look like I was four months pregnant.  There were not really any GI problems such as diaherra, constipation.  I did have some excess gas but that has since went away but the distention has not. I called my OBGYN he still said it was a GI problem and really kinda of dismissed anything else.  I was not satisfied with that I called my PCP who I trust fully!  Had my appt with him yesterday.  He first thought tubal pregnancy that was ruled out through a negative pregnancy test.  He then sent me downstairs for an abdominal and pelvic u/s.  The tech took an hour and 15 total. I told her a little bit of the most recent history.  She started doing her thing and then she begain to ask me questions like "Did they tell you it got smaller' and "did they tell you if it was a mass or cysts" and then she kind of let this question slip "so when did you first feel the mass this time" I just said that all the stuff started about a week and half ago.

Of course the tech cant tell you anything and she kept the monitor hidden!  And it was Friday at 5:00 so of course I havent heard from the doctor.  I am a otherwise healthy 28 year old who had been on BCP since 15 years old although I still continue to have cysts form!

Any suggestions, words of wisdom I should continue with?

Thanks

I think it is a good sign that the cyst went down in size.  I don't know what to advise you but I think you should talk to your dr. about all the possiblities.  You should realy tell them the truth about when it started or they really won't have the correct information to figure out what is wrong with you.  I agree with the above post that you need to just follow up on Monday.   BCP since 15 will help reduce your risk of ovarian cancers.

I'm so sorry you're getting the run around. I think there should be some law that they can't do tests on a Friday and make us wait all weekend long. Just kidding - kind of.

Any idea when you'll hear back from the doctor? There's not a lot you can do for the moment but take it easy. If you're really comfortable with your PCP, then call Monday afternoon and check in with the office. The mornings are always hectic and not a good time to get their attention. But ask when you can expect the results because you're really feeling bad. As for the OBGYN,  poop on him. Sometimes I wonder why they go into that specialty if they think we're all a bunch of whiners. Sorry, I'm just a grump today.
