About My Appointment on Wednesday 10/13...

My DH, being the darling and loving man he is, called the clinic I am going to on Wednesday to ask questions as to what to expect at my first visit.

My appt. is set for 12:30. Well come to find out, that is the time I am seeing the financial counselor. Then 1 p.m. is my main appointment. First, I will see residents. Get a pelvic exam (hopefully by only one of them). Then, the doctor does not get there til 2 p.m. because he has an office he practices out of. The doctor will sit with the residents, ask them about their examination of me, and what they think. Then he will probably do his own pelvic exam. Then, DH was told, that he'll probably order more blood tests. After that, it all depends on what the doctor thinks. DH was assured that he is a great doctor and that most women walk away feeling more calm and assured than when they first walked in.

So here I was, wishing my life away to get to this appointment. Now, I have to look forward to 2 pelvic exams. Some blood work. Lots of waiting. Then who knows. I am hoping he'll at least do another ultrasound, possibly one that can indicate doppler flow.

Anyone else have an experience similar to this? For those who don't know, I have a 3cm solid mass on my left ovary. And my CA-125 came out at 150.5. Normal is 35 and below.

Something else, that could be related or totally unrelated - I have these bumps, not sure if they are cysts or tumors, on my body. One on my upper left arm. One on my right thigh. A larger one on my butt. The first two are almost invisible because of color. The one on my bee-hind is under the skin. But it is hard and dark. Not black, but almost. Kind of purple. Is this something I should ask the doctor I am going to see about? I am going to see a gynecological oncologist.

Hey there, kid.  I know this is a really tough time for you and your dear husband.  I remember being  where you guys are right now.....it's a scary place.
Marie is right when she says show your bumps to the doctor......show him/her everything  and anything......otherwise you will later wonder if this or that is significant.
It's great your husband is doing what he should be doing.....he is being pro-active when it comes to your health....just as you should be.
I am so glad you are seeing a gyn/oncologist....and, I hope he gives you a pelvic before he decides what is what......I would insist, actually.
I will be thinking about you tomorrow.....I am so glad you have your husband.....two sets of ears is always better.....also, I think you get a better response from your medical team, and your oncologist when you present as a team.
Please do let us know what is going on when you feel like talking.
Peace.

Yes, show the bumps to the doc.  I show my doc whatever pops up whether she wants to look or not!!  I will be happy for you when your wait is over and you are A-Okay.  Marie
