About the lump around my ovary...

Well, I am 18, but I still live at home with no job. So...is their anyway to go get an ultra sound with no money? I don't have health insurance and I know my mom won't take me back to the gynocologist already. (I was just there last Tuesday.) She said that it's nothing, but if it hurts or gets bigger, to go back. It already feels about 2 1/2 inches long and I know it's been there for a while. I'm so confused and I'm tired of worrying.

this may not be the best advise,but,if nothing else,go to your local er...tell them you are now in pain,and the doc who seen u befor said if that happend they would do a ultra sound...the er at that point will do one,and you will get billed for it,and help put your mind at ease...just a suggestion..sonie

I think I just posted a comment to you on another entry about checking into family planning clinics in your area.   Also non-for -profit hospitals generally get funding, too if you meet income guidelines for them to help you with assitance.  My sister(age 20) was admitted thru the ER, had to have an emergency lap, was diagnosed with PID and spent almost a week in the hospital.  She works, but insurance had not kicked in yet and the hospital wrote a $20,000 bill to $20.00 because they get funding for these purposes.  even if you don't qualify for this type of program, Most hospitals will mark down private pay bills.  For instance, my company has an agreement with medical; facilities in the area that they can charge a certain amount for a procedure or visit.  The facility then "writes" off the amount over what my insurance company allows.  Smae goes with private oay that can prove that they cannot afford to pay the boosted price.  I hope this helps.
