Acute Pain

Acute Pain

I've been experiencing progressively acute pain for the last several years in my lower right abdominal area.  I've had CT scans, MRI's and pelvic ultrasounds.  I was informed by my OB that the chronic pain is probably coming from the fibroid on the outter side of my right ovary and my primary care physician tells me that it's the disintegrating disc that could be lying against either my spinal cord or (syactica) nerve (lower back area, but I have no pain there).  The pain radiates down my right leg most times from the lower right abdominal area (between the crease of the leg and abdomin (abdomen)).  On a scale of 1 to 10 the pain is off the charts at 100.  When experiencing the pain, I can bearly stand up-speak-vision blurred.  Lately I have vomitted a little, but my stomach recently started really feeling nausea.  I can't function most times.  However, there is an intermittent day or two when I don't have pain at all. I'm very greatful for those days.  At night the pain wakes me up out of my sleep if I don't take at least 1400 mil of pain meds.  This isn't good.

I always feel the pain before becoming acute.  The pain will radiate for about 1 minute and then stop for a couple of minutes and then surface again.  It does this for about 10 minutes.  After 10 minutes the pain is full blown acute and unbearable.  The pain is so so so bad it's tearing me apart emotionally.

My pain had been and still is being managed by IBU, Motrin, and Tylenol w/Cod.  I can't live a normal life with this pain I'm suffering with and I can neither continue to take pain meds for the rest of my life.  I am a normal health 43 year old in excellent health.  I'm in the process of requesting for a referral to a specialist, but I'm now going through another series/battery of  MRIs and pelvic ultrasounds again.

Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kindest Regards,

Hi There
I am so sorry to hear about your suffering. Pain is very complicated. There are so many possibilities. With normal xray findings, pain may be neurologic. But you should ask your consultant if there is a role for looking directly in the abdominal cavity by laparoscopy.
best wishes. I hope that the cause of your pain is discovered.
