Adenomyosis/monitoring or surgery?

Adenomyosis/monitoring or surgery?

I have chronic back pain, bloating, exhaustion & tenderness on pelvic left side.  My June US showed abnormal endometrium, abnormal left ovary w/complicated cyst & small cyst along uterine fundus. Pathology report noted hyperplasia w/o atypia. In July, my general doc recommended abd & pelvic MRIs w/contrast. Results: 4.2 adnexal cyst w/tiny cysts within on left ovary; peritoneal cysts at uterine body & thickened junctional zone w/several high intensity foci at fundal region suggesting adenomyosis. Fluids present surrounding the uterus and between the uterine segment & bladder. Small amount of fluid in the right adnexa.  No fibroids or endometriosis;I am not in menopause nor peri. CA125, hormone panel, CBC, & pap were fine.  Blood pressure very high. I usually have low BP but doc suggested I may be nervous. I'm 49 w/child. This began as I was w/o my period for 8 months, then prolonged bleeding for 2 cycles (40 days) so I went to ER in June suggested possible menopause. Spotting has returned this month (6th day). Back pain(no spinal issues) & exhaustion are overwhelming. I'm getting depressed & no confirmation that the back pain & symptoms are related. My gyn suggested monitoring the situation.  She is generally cautious about surgery. I'd just like to have a hysterectomy for relief or confirmation of something but I may not be thinking straight. Do these symptoms pose worry or is monitoring a typical course of action given this info?  Thank you for advice.

Hi Sparky,

I agree with you. Get a hysterectomy( remove the uterus, cervix, tubes and ovaries ). You have several things going on:
a premalignant condition of the lining of the uterus: hyperplasia
adenomyosis which causes pain and excessive bleeding
ovarian cysts.

Also you are 49 years old and will soon go into menopause.
and you want to have the surgery.

I think you are thinking straight!
best wishes
