Adnexal mass/cyst

I have a 7 centimeter adnexal mass--other words thrown around on MRI were hemorraghic cyst and adenoma granular ...I have a history of cysts and also popping or bleeding cysts that have gone away inthe past.  Dr. wants to take this one out.  I do not want to lost my ovaries.  I am 51 with regular periods and no obvious signs of menopause.  What are my options?

Hi There, usually when a cyst is greater that 4 to 5 cm, it can cause trouble with pain, twisting, and there is a small risk that it is malignant. Your options are to watch it over time and if it continues to grow, reconsider your decision to preserve your ovary or to remove it now.
