Advice Please

by JennaM, Jun 03, 2003 12:00AM
Hello,

I am 26 years old, and I have a 13 month old daughter.
About 6 months ago I started having intestinal complaints, a lot of gas, and constipation or diarrhea. My stools are quite thin. I also had intermittent pain in my lower right quadrant. It wasn't severe pain, just mildly annoying. I am also severely fatigued and am losing weight, 15 lbs so far. The pain has steadily gotten worse, I feel it in my entire pelvis, and my lower back and tailbone are in agony. The pain is 24/7 now.

My doctor first suspected a colon problem, and sent me for a barium enema, and then to a specialist for a colonoscopy, both of which were normal. I had a pelvic ultrasound last Friday, and it showed a few cysts on each ovary. However, my doctor doesn't think that accounts for all the symptoms, so he's sending me for an abdominal ultrasound this Friday.  What could be going on?  My symptoms seem to be concurrent with OC, so I am nervous.  Any advice is much appreciated.

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I  had a Mirena IUD put in in October, I had normal menses for 3 months, my last one was Dec 21, but then stopped completely.  Intercourse is also painful afterwards.
