After Surgery Questions??

I had my laparoscopy surgery last Friday. I had the mass removed and my left ovary which was benign and infections that The Gyn-Onc cleaned out. I had foley put inside of me because removing my mass which was sorta attached to my bladder there was a little hole this simple procedure turned into a 5hour operation I stayed in the hospital an additional 3 days with a fever that only cam at night. I'm home now feeling better no pain meds gettting up ok. My question is at night when I sleeep I've been getting night sweats and sometimes during the day I feel some kinda heart palputations not a lot but sometimes.. Can I be getting some type of menopause symptoms? I had an EKG in the hopital because my pulse rate was fast the EKG was normal maybe a little  faster being in the hospital.
Thank you ladies for all your help I don't know how i got by the last few months without all of you. Your always in my prayers

Hi! When I had my right ovary and tube removed (along with a huge tumor), I had night sweats for a week and a half. They were so bad the first week in the hospital that the nurses would have to come and completely change my hospital gown  and my bedding at least once every night. Sometimes even twice a night. I think that it has to do with your hormones/body adjusting to having one ovary. When I asked my dr. about it, he said that it was perfectly normal. After about a week and a half (I think....it may have been 2 weeks. I don't remember exactly), the night sweats stopped.
Hope this helps! :)
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Had hysto all was removed...The first 2 months, I had lots of night sweat and what I thought was hot flashes...Now 7 months later, I don't have any more night sweat and believe my hot flashes are more due to the humidity and hight temperature where I live.  Not taking HRT of any kind.

Do you still have your right ovary?  Maybe it takes a while for the remaining ovary to "kick" in?  I had both removed and had major hot flashes and night sweats the day after removal.
Good to hear you are healing well w/out the pain meds.

Hi SimplyStar thanks for responding yes I was sent home with metronidazol for infection. I keep checking my temperture and it's normal. The foley came out today the Dr told me I was able to do it myself I did. I'm glad to have it out:)
I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day and Leslie will stay in my prayers for a very long remission.

Did they send you home on antibiotics?  With the additional repair to the bladder and a foley, I would guess that your sweats might be fever related, watch your temp carefully, drink plenty of fluids and  maybe take a couple of tylenol before bedtime.  Hope you do fine
