After a Hysterectomy

I had a hysterectomy a week ago. I have gained 5 pounds since I had my surgery. Since I'm not a big eater, everyone tells me that it's from the surgery itself and that I still have alot of air and that it will takes several weeks for the swelling to go down. Can you please tell me if this is a true statement and I have nothing to worry about with the weight gain. Thank You.
