After the CT Scan

by jb_m, Aug 10, 2004 12:00AM
I've been having a lot of heavy bleeding for 6 months now and pain in my left ovary that leaves me doubled over and in cold sweats, some other things going on as well but I went to my DR who had me take a vaginal ultrasound that showed a mass on my left ovary about 3 cm. I was given a consult with a gynocology oncologist and she put in some lab work for me, which came back normal for the most part, and a CT scan. Today I got a call from her where she told me my CT pictures of my ovary and uterus weren't very clear, but did show some fluid in my pelvic area that wasn't there before, the mass is still uncertain if its a cyst or something more. I have an IUD and am on birth control pills to regulate the bleeding but it isnt doing that. My periods are now every two weeks and lasting from 9-11 days. My question is.. could this fluid be from a ruptured cyst that wasnt seen before, since the mass on my ovary is still there? I'm pretty scared and my dr as nice as she is, I'm just not feeling very confident in her right now.
