Another Angel

It is with great sadness that I come to you, my friends.....Helen, Freshair has lost her personal battle against this beast..  She is looking down on all of us as and giving us strength so that we continue to fight this battle for her and for ourselves.   I got to know Helen, not only here on this board but in real life.  We sat together at a dinner at the end of January.  I will tell you that she looked great, was upbeat and still fighting and believing she was going to win this battle. She was a amazing friend, put others before herself.  Please keep her Frank, her loving husband and Jessica, her beautiful daugther in  your thoughts.

Helen - I am glad that you are no longer suffering, but, I will miss you terribly.

I am truly saddened that Helen has left us.  It was in March that I last heard from her, but there was no indication of this coming.  I know we all prayed that the 5fu would do the trick.  Pam, I know you were close and I am sorry for your loss.  
My heartfelt condolences go out to her family.  I know what it is like to lose a mother to this dreaded beast.
For those of you that didn't know her, Helen was an enthusiastic researcher and a huge believer in natural supplements and the bodies ability to heal itself.   Below are some links to sites that Helen passed along that had medical news about a few supplements that somehow got funding for studies.  She was always excited when the rare study was conducted that proved certain supplements have beneficial effects on cancer patients.  Perhaps as these new studies come out it will encourage more researchers to spend time conducting studies into herbal supplements.  There is also a book that she liked that talks about the minds ability to help heal the body.  She was one in a million and she will be missed.

wow...I really wasn't expecting to read this. I had no idea she was so sick.... Maybe I did, and just didn't acknowledge it as I should have. Helen was a huge source of support on this board, not only to myself, but to countless others. I really am in shock...

Helan, you gave me and my departed wife, Violet, many 'go get' em' ideas and thoughts, now I know you are together catching up on the good old times. Tho helan's husband and family, I won't say the hurt goes away, as it dosn't, but remember the good times, the couage and dignaty that Helan had to her last breath, she like Violet, wanted to live, to beat this terrible curse, but was taken by God, be stong as she was. I just sent Helen an email last week checking on her.  I am so so sad to hear this news.  Helen would refer to herself as "Hell" when she was on chemo, then back to Helen when she was off.  I will always think of her when I buy flowers as she loved her garden and the outdoors.
Helen was my first ally and friend on this forum and we had much in comon. She was a fighter as well as a surviver having dealt with this enemy for 4 years.  I will truly miss her and if anyone has an address I can have, I would like to send her family a glass angel that she had shown in interest in having.
