Any cause for concern

I went to my doctor after having lower pelvic discomfort/pain for 2 months along with some pressure, feeling bloated and gas type feeling in abdomen.  He ordered a CT scan of abdomen and pelvic.  He called me with the results today and said he wasn't completely sure what it meant and where to go from here.  It said I had a cyst on my left ovary and free fluid in my pelvic area.  He said that was vague to him as to the urgency or lack there of needed to tend to the situation.  He asked me to come in next week (since it was Friday afternoon now), to go over things and discuss further tests/treatment, etc.
A few years back, I had gone to a gyno for a routine pap who found a "mass on my left ovary" during a pelvic exam.  He ordered a ultrasound of it.  The sonographer said she couldn't find the mass, so they chalked it up to maybe he was feeling my colon????  I thought he must be a quack doctor and have not since returned to him.  I haven't had another pelvic exam since.  Should I be concerned at all?  I know ovarian cysts are common and regular things people get....I know NOTHING about free fluid.....but is there any reason I should even pursue further investigation?

Hi There
so much depends on context.
If you are premenopausal and having regular menstrual cycles, the most common scenario is a cyst of ovulation.Usually a repeat ultrasound in 3 months is reccomended.

But it is also helpful to know the exact nature of the report. If you have the report, could you write in the details and I can help you better understand the significance
best wishes
