Anyone try hexalen?

My mom (age 67) is undergoing treatment with hexalen.  She was diagnosed over 2 years ago and this is the 3rd chemo drug she's used.  The 1st two did lower her CA-125 after each treatment and eventually went down to "normal" limits, but within 3 mos, the numbers were up again.

She has been on hexalen for 2 months (2 wks on, 2 wks off, etc).  But her CA-125 keeps going up, which is something we hadn't experienced before during treatments.  Her doctor said that's not unusual.  Has anyone here had experience w/ hexalen?  Did your CA-125 numbers drop right away or did it take a few rounds of treatment.  I appreciate any info you can give us.  Thanks!

hi, did u mum take the capsules or chemo injection for hexalen?

my mum did not have chemo since this sep, and now her ca125 from 500 up to 5000... i am going to ask her to have some capsultes and still in the choose within  Hexalen and Etoposide....

Yes my mom was given hexalen also for 3rd chemo and same reaction.  The second oncologist she saw after this said it was the incorrect chemo to give (more of a 'maintenance' chemo of anything).  Thus if ca125 is going up, get off hexalen...it did more harm than good for my mom.  Has she been on Doxil or anything yet?  Agressive chemo is important...look into two drug combinations
