Ascites vs. tumours

Can anyone tell me,  do you develop ascites after the tumours are removed on a reoccurence of the cancer?

I do know that my husband had ascites after his tumors were removed. (renal cell cancer) He had to have it drained a couple of times.  Other times he was swollen/bloated it was due to bowel blockages...side effect from chemo and pain medication.  He avoided any future bowel problems with mineral oil, laxatives and stool softeners on a regular basis.  Now, I don't know if it applies to ovarian tumors, but my guess would be yes.

Yes you can develope ascites. Not everyone does. I had mets to my liver. I think the build up of ascites depends on where your recurrance is. I have had to be drained several times, but recently not as often. This means that the chemo I am on is working.
