Ascites determine prognosis

My moms ascites is so reoccuring, her surgery was cancelled biopsy tommorow and then chemo after. ive heard that helps with the ascites. Where does the ascites come from?

If I understand it correctly, ascites is fluid pressed from the tissues by the cancer cells.  I think you can google "ascites" and possibly get a better response.  It's not unusual for some women to have chemo first to reduce some of the cancer .. then surgery .. then finish off the chemo.

   I asked my Dr the same thing and he basically explaind it as the cancer "springing a leak". The chemo your mom is ready for should help a lot to reduce some of the ascities.
