Bleeding after surgery

Bleeding after surgery

I had my right ovary removed last Friday. It was done laprocoscopyly. I started bleeding today. It's like a period. I am not sure why it happened. Any idea. It's caused by the procedure or the removal of ovary.

I did not have my ovary removed, but had laparoscopic surgery on Wednesday.  I was told it was normal to expect some bleeding afterwards.  I had light spotting off and on since then (nothing on the pad, but when I wiped.)  Yesterday, I seemed to start cramping more, and today it seems like my period is actually arriving.  I was wondering if that was normal, like yourself, since my period is not due for another week.  I did see on a web site, that some women experience late or early periods post laparoscopy.  I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow to get my suture removed, and I plan on asking her.  I will post what she tells me.  Hope this helps.  How are you feeling otherwise?

Jenny,

Thank you for the information. I only have the tube and ovary removed. Nothing on uterus. I can tell a large clots from the bleeding. It is heavier than a period. I spoke to doc today. He said it should stop in two days. It's my second day. If it doesn't stop I will call the office again. Not sure what to do with it.

Also with hotflash it's hard to recover.

Hi there,
I had my ovary removed 8/26 and slight spotting for the first couple of days, but then heavy bleeding.  I spoke with my doctor who said that there could be bleeding from the manipulation of the uterus during surgery and it could even be heavier than a period, or it could be a period, ect.  Just watch for large clots, dizziness, ect.  My bleeding stopped about 1 week post op.
