I have the same problem. I have a 5 cm cyst on my left ovary and am 13 weeks pregnant. After performing ultrasound, they said it looks like a borderlineBorderline personality disorder tumor and they want to remove it. So I am scheduled for surgery in 4 weeks time. It will be removed through laparotomy, because the doctor cannot perform laparoscopyDiagnostic laparoscopy Gynecologic laparoscopy Incision for abdominal laparoscopy Laparoscopy Pelvic laparoscopy that late into pregnancy. I feel good about removing it, and they assured me the risk for the baby is low. It is too risky to leave it in, and if it grows, it is more difficult to remove it later in pregnancy.
Hope this helps
This is what happened to me if you want to talk about it let me know I know it was a while ago same as mine but i would still like to compare outcomes with you
hi ladies .. i know a woman here with a similar situation and she received the advice on the expert forum to wait until after the baby is born
i am 43 (not pregnant) and had 1c serous borderline tumors removed during a total abdominal and BSO hysterectomy ... it is my understanding that these are extremely slow growing types ... and that surgery practically cures most borderline tumors and they only watch for recurrence
first question that came to mind was ... how did they know the tumor was borderline? they were unable to ascertain the nature of my tumor until after they received the pathology report (after it was removed, biopsied and studied) ... i personally would get a second opinion from another radiologist to confirm the suspicion of borderline before i discussed any treatment options during pregnancy
secondly .. if ur confident that ur tumor is borderline based on ur research ... and opinions u received from ur gyn / radiologists and possibly a second opinion ... it seems wise to wait until after delivery ...
having said that ... only u and ur docs can decide what treatment is best for u and your unborn ... this is only my opinion and i err on the side of caution when it comes to invasive procedures during pregnancy
i pray u both the best for yourselves and your babies !
love

Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that I had the cyst removed through laparotomy two weeks ago, when I was 17 weeks pregnant. It was indeed a borderline cyst. The doctor used an uterine relaxant for the baby and a laser to cut out the cyst and leave the ovary intact, because I would like to have other children in the future.
The baby survived and this is what I was worried most about.
I need to be checked every six months for recurrence after the baby is born, because these tumors tend to recurr.
Hope this helps
