Breast Cancer last year/Chemo/Radiation - Now possible ovarian/cervical?

am 41 and 12/09 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  I lost my period obviously which stopped during January 2010 during 1st Chemotherapy.  I had one so-called period (it was heavy and long) in early Jan 2011.  In between then and now, I've had two intercourse times with my husband of 20 years (yay I know, but you would understand if you've been through this) :) and both times I did bleed.  The first time, it was so heavy it actually dripped out of me.  That cleared up within hours.  The next time was not as much, but I did bleed.  I avoided my husband for this reason but then I finally opened up and talked with him about it.  Now, last Wednesday I when I had my pap, I didn't know it, but my period had started.  Since then, my period has been very heavy.  I usually have only 5 days.  I am still bleeding / spotting and it's still very bright red.  Is this normal?

During this time, I also have noticed I am extremely tired, I have gained 8 lbs. since January, I have right abdominal pain that goes up to under my breasts, my stomach feels bloated, all my pants are tight on me and my belly looks like I am 7 months pregnant.  My ankles and lower leg swell at times, I have daily headaches and my legs hurt all the time.  Did I mention how tired I am? Anyway, last week I went to my ob/gyn and he said he was glad I came in.  Did a PAP test (I had pre-cancerous cells in my cervix 20 years ago) so he was concerned.  Scheduled me for an abdominal ultrasound in two days.  I am scared out of my mind I am going to have to go through chemo again and have my life shortened even more.  What do you think about these symptoms?

Any input you can provide would be great.  I am scared.  Thanks.

Hi There
sounds like you are in good hands
doing a pap smear, biopsy of the uterus, and ultrasound are important. It would also be helpful to have blood work to check your hormonal levels. Some women will resume their periods after chemo and that might be what this is. but it is important to rule out cancerous or precancerous problems.
I hope all goes well
best wishes
