CA-125 Increase Question

Has anyone had... or is it normal for some flucutation within the normal range of CA-125 after ovca dx?  When I was dx, I had a reading of 61.  Then, it steadily went down and six months ago was a 4.  My latest reading is 13.  This is still very low, but is it any concern that it has gone up from the usual reading of 4?  Is there any reason for concern when it is in the "normal" range?  I haven't been able to talk to my gyn/onc about it yet.

Thanks,

Shelly

Thanks to you both.  I have something going on right now...have a very high sed rate and feel really awful.   My doctor thinks I may have some type of arthritic autoimmune issue likely unrelated to the past cancer.  I have some more tests pending.  I love how on this forum you can get feedback that is usually just what the doctor says when you talk to him.  Sometimes it is hard to wait until you can get the drs opinion.  I hope the two of you are feeling better.

I agree with Jun.  My onc says a trend of 3 increases is a cause for concern.  Hope everything is fine.  Marie

I think it is very normal when ca125 fluctuates within the normal range since there are some many other reasons can cause elevated ca125.  The trend is more reliable than just a single test. I would repeat the test in a month to see what is going on if i were you.
