CA-125 of 54

CA-125 of 54

I have had a cyst on my left ovary for the past 4 years.  My understanding is that it gets bigger, then it gets smaller, but it is now approx. 4 cm X 4 cm.  It appears to be compartmentalized with mostly fluid filled.  This hasn't been a great concern until my CA-125 started to rise.  One year ago it was 25, three months ago it was 45, and now it is 54.  I have seen a gynecologic oncologist who says he doesn't think the cyst is cancer, but of course doesn't make any guarantees.  I have elected to wait 3 months and get rechecked, but now I'm starting to second guess myself, especially after researching on the Internet.  It seems that a CA-125 of greater than 65 is indicative of a malignancy and I feel like 54 is too close to 65 and maybe I should be more proactive.  At a minimum, I am thinking of having my CA-125 level re-checked at the one month anniversary of my last test.  Other history:  My right ovary was removed 5 years ago because of a large cyst.  I elected not to have a full hysterectomy at the time.  I have a fibroid in my uterus and a history of endometrioses although I had an endometrial ablasion procedure approximately 10 years ago.  I am experiencing no pain, I am 50 years old and still having occasional periods (had one at the time of my last CA-125 test), and only other symptom is a profuse watery vaginal discharge which I have had for the last few years.  I have had regular ultrasounds, CA-125 tests, and gyn visits since my last surgery.  Any input would be appreciated.  Thank you.
