CA-125 result question

by andi1717, Oct 11, 2007 12:08PM
I have posted before, but now have more info.  I am 51, peri menopausal, have a large (15cm x 14 cm) complex, ovarian tumor with calcifications and debris.  I am scheduled for surgery 10/19.  I just got my first CA 125 result of 19.9.  I was told by the nurse that it was an ok result.

Can anyone enlighten me as to exactly how ok IS that result ?  Any other advice ? Helpful hints for the next few weeks ?

Well, according to the research I've done the normal range for a CA-125 is 0 to 35.  Mine was 43.1 and that doesn't seem to alarm anyone, from what I've read there are several factors that can raise it.  I hope that you have good news and surgery went well.
