CA 125

by Maxie1014, Dec 30, 2007 03:00PM
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February 07 and had surgery then.  I have stage 3 ovarian cancer.  I completed 9 rounds of chemotherapy (Nov. 07) and my CA 125 is still over 200.  I had 2 cat scans which showed no signs of cancer by my CA 125 will not go down. My gyn oncologyst is retiring and I am switching doctors.  I am a healthy 52 year old.  Does anyone have a high CA 125?

Hi There
I would recommend that you meet with a gyn oncologist to review your situation. There are other reasons for an elevated CA 125 but I do worry that this may represent persistent cancer that is just too small to see on scan. You should ask your gyn oncologist about the option of a laparoscopy to evaluate he abdominal cavity.
