Calcifications

by greenThumbs, Mar 15, 2006 12:00AM

Would calcifications show up on an ultrasound?  I think I am going to have to call me gyn's office and ask why I am not being sent back for a 6 week follow-up pelvic ultrasound as recommended in the report.  I will just say it was a question that I forgot to ask.  I am trying not to make myself crazy but the more I read the more I wonder....

Yes, calcifications could show up.  These could be teeth and bone inside a dermoid.  Dermoids are such yucky things, but also BENIGN!  (I consider it to be a symptom of my inner catwoman and every once in a while we need to cough up hairballs!) Meow!

what does it mean when my stage 3 ovarian cancer tumor show calcification?
Is there a better prognosis when this occurs?
