CA125 tests aren't really reliable for pre-menopausal women.
It really is 1 'inch'? Because you can have pain from a cyst that is smaller than 2 'centimeters'! Mine is just under 4cm and I have leg pain, back pain, side pain, mild cramps, etc. Spotting but that is because of my BC pills.
A cyst of any size can cause pain.... it's not the size, it's where it's pressing into or what other organs it's pushing around.

You don't need reassurance. You know something is wrong, and likely what that problem is, and you have made the correct decision in seeking a second opinion!
Actually, the CA-125 test is more or less only reliable for menopausal women, which you seem to be...so why hasn't your doctor ordered one for you? For that matter, my doctor had me tested prior to my surgery for a complex cyst in 2004, and I am perimenopausal; she wanted a pre-surgery baseline level CA-125 in the event that cancer was discovered during surgery. (It was not; the mass, although quite scary, was benign.)
And even a small cyst can cause symptoms such as pain and abdominal swelling, as well as a host of other odd little complaints. Even after a woman reaches menopause, her ovaries do continue to produce small amounts of hormones. Any disruption or imbalance of these hormones can produce symptoms.
My 1 cm septated cyst which has thankfully shrunk from it's original 2 cm size has caused cramping, leg pain and other symptoms. Those little things can wreak havoc on us!
My 2cm complex sent me to the ER thinking I was having an appendicitis attack. They can definately cause us cramping pain and lower back pain. The things we women have to go through :-) Kasie
I guess I didnt knw it caused cramping, but what if I have never had any pain whatsoever then it starts? Is that a sigh that something is wrong?I have been fine I have a 25cm.cyst on my right overy and I have known since dEcember,no pain but all of a sudden now I hurt in my stomach pelvic area and the lower part of my back I cannot explan the cramps.
