Can anyone explain this please?

I posted last week and had a 4.4 x 4.4cm complex septated cyst on my left ovary 2 weeks ago seen on CT with contrast.  My CA-125 is slightly elevated this week so my GYN sent me for a doppler u/s today.  First the u/s tech almost did not do the doppler cuz she didn't see it on the order, and aslo asked me why I was there???  Then she found a 5 x 6cm leading edge complicated cyst on my right ovary and nothing on my left!  I may be dumb but I got the report of today's doppler within 30 minutes of the procedure and how can it show nothin on the left now?  Is it possible they have the sides messed up or somthing?  Can anyone explain this?  Thanks a ton!  Suz

Wow!  That sounds like they mixed it up.  But, you never know.  What did your gyn say?  You have to investigate further.   You should ask for the CT report and the slides.  They will put those slides on a disc for you and you can see them on your own computer, make a copy and then take it all to your doctor.  You can see for yourself the correct side by looking at the slides.  By law, they have to release it to you.  You just need  to call ahead so they will have it ready.   Also, do the same for the ultrasound report.  Either way if you have a mass over 5cm and complex, you need a gynecologic oncologist consult before you let your gyn take out your mass.  The only way to know if it is malignant for ovarian cancer is to remove the mass and have it biopsied.  Here are some links you should read:

I hope you find some answers and do please follow up right away.  If it is the same mass and it is growing, you need to get it removed soon.  Keep us posted and best wishes.
