Though I was dx at stage IV ovarian cancer, my cervix was also left. In questioning the Dr about this I was told that I was begining to bleed very badly. I don't know, go figure. Anyway, I now still have my cervix. I still am supposed to have yearly pap smears but my onc is not real worried about it all as he says we have to focus on the ov ca.
I also did not recieve IP therapy as I was not a candidate for it because the cancer was spread beyond the abdominal cavity.
I have heard of a few others whose cervix was left but it does not seem to be the norm. I guess it is the Drs choice in the end.

I have never heard of that either. The vaginal cuff is stitched shut so I cannot imagine any leakage. I had a lot of disgusting side effects from my I/P, but no leakage. Marie
I've never heard of anyone having their cervix left in after a TAH...certainly not after a diagnosis of stage 3c ovarian cancer. It's actually not a TAH if your cervix is still there...it's a partial hysterectomy. I hope it will be to your benefit in the end...I've never heard of IP therapy causing leaking.
I guess there's a first for everything!
Glad to hear your doing well...
