Cisplatin and kidney damage.

They are watching my moms kidney functions with the cisplatin her numbers are not normal. Has anyone experienced this?

Cisplatin can be very hard on the kidneys. Before I began my first treatment of taxol, they decided to put me on carboplatin instead of cisplatin because I'd been having some kidney trouble and they told me it's much easier on the kidneys. It's usually standard for them to use cisplatin because it's cheaper - I live in Canada and didn't have to pay for the drugs but I remember them telling me that.
I hope her kidney function resolves.
