Complex Hemorrhagic Cyst

Complex Hemorrhagic Cyst

I had gotten a pelvic ultrasound on 10/16/2006. My symptoms that caused me to go to the doc was lower back pain, severe ab bloating and chronic fatigue. I am 31 years old, I have a 13-year-old son and I have been a one pack/day smoker for about 17 years...Here is what the utltrsound report said:

In the left ovary, there is a hypoechoic density which measures approx. 1.9 x 2.3 cm. This does not have the appearance of a simple cysts, may be a complex hemorrhagic cyst. Doppler evaluation demonstrates blood flow in the region of the left ovary. There is a trace of free fluid in the pelvis. The right ovary was not located (????)

Also, I just wanted to point out that I had gotten a partial hysterectomy (removed uterus only, due to endometriosis) about 4 years ago. Lung and bladder cancer run on my maternal side of the family. Also, I was told that this cyst was seen during my operation 4 years ago (why they did not remove it...I don't know)???? Isn't it kind of strange for this cyst to still be? Should I be concerned? I have a follow-up in 2 1/2 weeks. I cannot take the fatigue and bloating any longer. Anyone...please help calm my nerves.

Thanks,
Mdb75

Hi there,
Thank you for the complete information. At 31 years of age, you are most likely still having ovarian cycles. A 1-2.3 cm complex ovarian cyst is most likely a cyst of ovulation. I would recommend a repeat ultrasound in 6 weeks to check again.
best wishes to you

Chills (occassional) - no fever though
Stiff neck
Swollen gland behind left ear
Morning diarrhea
Feeling of nausea

I have been feeling under the weather for about 2 months now...or maybe longer!
