Complex OV.Cyst with Free Fluid in Pelvis

New here...stumbled across this site and after reading several forums, I decided to give my question a shot here.  I had ultrasounds (both transadbdominal and transvaginal) done on Friday after arriving at my GP with extreme pain in pelvis/abdomen areas.  Also had unbelievable pressure in both my vaginal and rectal regions.  So much that I could not sit flat.  I had quite of bit of bloating also.  I had my results from the US immediately.  I was told that I had a complex ovarian cyst that had partially ruptured.  I also had free fluid in the pelvis.  I was scheduled to see a Gyno in two weeks...which is already seeming like an eternity!  I picked up my films today from the Hospital radiology dept. so that I would have them to take to the Gyno in two weeks.  The final written report from the MD in Radiology states that I have prominent endometrial thickening (1.3cm) and that the free fluid in pelvis shows debris.  It also states that both ovaries show multiple cysts but that the ovaries do have Doppler flow.  My complex cyst (which terrifies me) on right ovary is 3.3 x 2.3 x2.3cm with somewhat thickened wall and internal echos.  It could be representing hemorrhagic or inflammatory debris.  It does state that the "other" multiple cysts on both ovaries are probably follicular cysts (which if proven true, I am not that concerned with).

My question is...Does having multiple cysts along with a partially ruptured complex cyst seem to be cancerous?  It has been 5 days since the rupture and I am still having "menstrual-like" cramps in the right ovary still but I am able to sit more comfortably and the bloating has somewhat subsided.
What usually happens when you do have a complex cyst along with follicular ones?  Do Gyno's normally operate or leave them alone and watch?  Also, what happens to the fluid that is in the pelvis?  Any information (even if in addition to my above questions) would be greatly appreciated.  This is my first experience with anything being wrong (other that having a benign breast cyst 6 months ago) and I am honestly very worried about this.

Thanks again for letting me share my problems.  It is nice to know that I don't have to stress alone about this.

Hi there. I too am unfamiliar with cysts, but I do know ovarian cancer is a rare disease and 95% of cysts are benign. I hope this helps a little. Try and be positive and stay on top pf your doc's IN CASE it could be cancer because time is very important when dealing with this disease. You are in my prayers, Deandra

No, you don't have to stress alone. We are all here for you. I understand your fear.....unfortunantly, I don't have any answers to your questions. Don't worry, though, someone will be along with answers.

Thinking and stressing with you, Honey.

Hugs,
