Complex Ovarian Cyst

I just had an MRI to determine if I had urethral diverticulum and was told that I have a 6cm complex right ovarian cyst adnexal mass that is causing some pain with urination frequency and bloated abdomen off and on. I was diagnosed April 2004 with DCIS with which I went through 33 treatments of radiation and am taking Tamoxifen 20 mg. I had a hysterectomy in Dec 2000 but was left with both ovaries. I have been referred back to my gynecologist for possible surgery to remove the ovary. The urologist who ordered the MRI seemed quite concerned about this complex cyst.I have no history of ovarian cancer that i know of but with the breast cancer I am scared. What are the chances this could be cancer? Just the thought of cancer again is terrifying. Please give me some answers.
Thank you

Thank you for the comment back. I am scheduled for surgery Dec 15, 2004. I hope that all goes well with you too. Keep me posted.

I too have had ovarian cysts since being on Tamoxifen.  The cysts are complex the one time they aspirated them the fluid and walls were benign.

The last time I went to the gyn, I had three more, one on the left and two on the right.  I go back in Jan recheck them.

My gyn, thinks this is a side effect of Tamoxifen since I never had them before, my oncologist thinks that the benefits of Tamoxifen outweigh the side effects.  The next step is to perhaps remove the ovaries.

I am pre-menopausal, and had DCIS, radiation Tamoxifen 5 years.

Good luck and I hope everything is okay with you.
