Pin the onocologist down and tell him/her you want answers. If no answers get a different onocologist. 25% kidney function is not acceptable, Advocate for your mother, she is probably too sick to get direct answers, and you need them fast and correct. Fire the urologist and get one that willl take care of the kidney problems. she will need to start her chemo ASAP, did you get to see the surgery report, if not ask for it and all the tests that were run. those reports belong to you. Good Luck and keep us posted .
Im confused, my mom was taken in to have a ureter stent put in her left ureter, the urologist informed us that her loss of kidney function is from compression on her ureter it is non surgical problem, they went ahead and put in the stent, he did not say it was tumors but I believe that is what is going on. HE did say her Oncologist would be coming in to talk to her. What else could be compressing on her ureter. And her original problems after her debulking surgery were with her right kidney this is now a new problem with her left kidney. Why cant the doctors just be forthcoming. My question I guess is I am correct in assuming that this is tumors causing compression.
