Concern and wondering if anyone else had the same problem?

Ok My friend had a leap done 5 weeks ago due to cancer cells, She has been bleeding non stop since she had the surgical process done. And it is not a small amount it is alot of blood? She is in constant pain and can barely get out of bed. She has gone back to her doctor many times and he will not do anything. Her blood levels are low she is running fever and just not feeling well, her skin tone is pale and clamy constantly. her doctor told her after the surgery she should not have a period or bleed until 6weeks after her surgery. She was bleeding constantly before with a 3 to 5 day break before the surgery, but now she doesn't stop and it is not just spotting it is massive blood flow. She goes through a 24 pack of pads in less then 2 days. She is craving unsual salty foods her taste buds are off...But I am mainly concern about the bleeding and the pain she is enduring and if she is gonna be ok? Her Doc keeps telling her to wait a week and we will see what the status is then? Well been 5 weeks and her status is declining, her health and energy is just not there..She is starting to look like she is literally a walking zombie, and i am very concern that the longer she waits and keep listening to her doctor that she won't be here much longer... And i was just wondering if there was anyone out there who has gone through this before? Or some other medical advice that i can use to help her see what she needs to do?

Hi There

A LEEP stands for loop electrosurgical excision procedure. It means that some of the tissue on the cervix is removed using cautery. The tissue that is removed is the skin lining of the cervix. After a LEEP, there will be a 4 to 6 week period where there is spotting, staining, weird discharge until new skin grows over the raw area where the LEEP was done.

This procedure is used to treat pre-cancers of the cervix (also called dysplasia or carcinoma in situ)

Your friend is not having a normal postoperative experience. That bleeding sounds way too heavy. She may have an infection.

I would suggest going to an emergency room for an evalaution or seeing a differnt doctor for another pair of eyes to take a look
please let me know what happens
take care
