My best friends mom was told she has stage 3 cancer.  The doctors went in and told us that they removed the the cancer.  She went threw two types of treatments radiation therapy and chemo therapy.
Now she is having complications.  One of her kidneys is failing and she is not able to past stool.  Go Poop.  They said that there is no blocking in her system.  But she keeps throwing up and she is not able to keep anything down.
My question is if anyone can be extremely honest with me.  What is really going on with her?  I know that the doctors know but can someone tell me whats going on?  Is her system shutting down.  She is in her 50's.

Dear Tasha,
It is very hard to see your best friend suffer as her mother suffers from her illness. It can feel very helpless. It must be also frightening for you. You can be there for your friend and give support. There can be some privacy issues for her mother that are important to respect as well. But that can make it harder to understand what is going on.
It is good she has such a nice friend as you
take care

If she has a kidney infection until they can get that under control it will be hard for her to hold anything down.
The only reason I know this is my youngest son has kidney problems and when he has a kidney infection he cannot hold down anything not even water. He has to have IV antibotic (antibiotic) or shots to get rid of the infection.
If she has one good kidney sometimes that one good kidney will grow larger to offset the one that is failing.
Is she at home or in the hospital?
If she is not able to keep anything down and running fever then she should be in the hospital.
Only a one or two times did they just let me take my son back to the ER 3-4 days in the row to get a antibotic (antibiotic) shot to get rid of the kidney infection. And they can be painful as well.
I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for responding!  She can not release any bowels.  I don't think she has a fever but I dont know.  I am sick with a cold and cannot go visit her at the hospital.  We just want to know.  She has fluid around her kidneys and they are going in tonight to drain the fluid out of her back and they have put tubes down her either throat or nose and they are going in to release some of the bowels out of her intestines.  We are just worried about her
