I had posted this question to you a couple of weeks back but I don't think you saw it. - Is the gingerGinger Ginger root you take a gingerGinger Ginger root extract or a powder in a capsule? I was looking on a website and all I found was a 500mg gingerGinger Ginger root extract. Do your Drs have any problem with you taking it?
Just wanted to let you know that I started taking ginger tablets 3 days before my last (6) chemo, gradually increasing the amount each day. Then took a one day break day after chemo to help my kidneys and now I am back on it. You may find my description offensive but it's honest. I started to freak cause I started burping and farting again more frequently than usual and flashed back to the same problem I had before being diagnosed with OC & my operation. Well I realized that it is due to the ginger tablets I have been taking. I am more intune with my body and now I feel like I am releasing the toxins in my body. The burbs are hardy deep burbs and the farts have a very cleansing feeling like a real good full fart.,..LOL I am laughing hysterically as I am typing this but it is really how they feel...Of course, its a tremendous relief to know that they are in fact very different from the ones I had before my operation, actually sickly and weak!!! I am convinced that ginger cleanses your body of toxins quite thoroughly!!! Have decided to continue the ginger capsules and my 4000mg of vitamin c each day.
Kimchi,
I am new here but I read a lot about the posting here.I have one question regarding ginger, what is your initial dosage per day exactly and how you gradually increase it during one cycle? How is your body reaction, meaning, when you know you need to stop taking it?
I will also start taking it upon my completion of my chemo from my OVCA stage III.
I started 3 days before my chemo, taking 300mg x 3 after each meal with warm water, then increased to 400mg than 500mg x 3. Day after chemo, I stopped everything did not want to overload kidneys. Than started back at 300 mg and gradually increased to 500mg x 3 at the moment...About 10-20 minutes after I take ginger, I can feel my body get hot, like a hot flash and then pass gas. A couple of times I felt heat in my chest or lung but that is not often and realized it's because I had not eaten when I took them. The first week had a lot of gas, but now much less. No other unusual feelings, can have bowel move and urinate with no pain..I do drink LOTS of WATER, almost no white sugar. Now I am waiting for my PET scan to see what's happening inside and based on that outcome will decide if I will do a ginger cycle 3 day self treatment (heavier dosage) Only ginger I can find in Thailand is capsule made from 100% ginger root, can't verify if there is any gingerol.
Hope this helps and this is what I feel is best for me. Recommend you read everything here http://geocities.com/cure.cancer/
I think I remember you were doing topotecan and thalidomine. How are you doing on it because I am considering this? How long have you been on it? Are you doing it with the University of Michigan? I know with topotecan your counts go up at first--is that what is happening with you? Any information you can give me would be helpful.
Thanks,
Helen
P.S. That ginger is good. Also turmeric.
