Cyst Removal

I have to have a csyt removed and was wondering if anyone had this done and if so if you could give me some insight?  I have a 3cm cyst that has been present for 1 year and have had other female problems most of my adult life.  I am worried because I am in great pain most days and have started gaining weight very rapidly?

Don't worry I had a septated ovarian cyst on my right ovary with fallopian tubes the size of over 9cm and had surgery almost two weeks ago. My surgery was done laproscopy which is a faster recovery time than having a large abdominal cut. The doc removed both my ovaries and fallopian tubes and even tho I'm still sore it was nothing compared to the hysterectomy I had several years back.
Your cyst doesn't sound very large and so would think that your surgeon could remove by lap. Best of luck to you and try not to worry

Its been week three after my surgery. I had an incision in my abdomin (abdomen) because my tumor was too big for a lap. Ive been feeling pretty good. I too had gained weight, ALOT, and weighed more than ive ever weighed in my life! I weighed 283lbs before I had my tumor removed. I had a Dermoid tumor that was 11CM. Size of a grapefruit. If you have it at 3CM, they WILL remove it lap. I am certain. I mean, I could be wrong, but...3CM is a good size, but small enough to fit through a small incision! Anyway, when you have a cyst or tumor, some do gain weight. I havent changed my diet, and I have lost 10 pounds in three weeks. I had stretch marks on my stomach, and they are going away. I asked my Dr. about this, and he said that is probably why ive gained so much. I litterally gained 80 pounds in a year!Any way GOOD luck and keep me posted!

I kinda know what ya going through,, Four months ago i went to the emergency room with severe pain in the lower ab section of my stomach and they did a cat scan and found a 4.8 cyst on my left ovary and a 3.4 on my right..  so in the meantime i am waiting on a appointment with charity hosp.  The pain got so bad that i had to go again last night and they did another cat scan and found that the left cyst went down to a 3.2 but now the right one is 5.5cm and has to be removed asap both of them...i have gained alot of wait in the last few months. I started at 251 and now i am at 282...I hope everything goes ok.. my appointment is for the 13th of october... so gooood luck..
