Jamie,

I am not sure since I have only had Cancer. If you are having symptoms which are bothering please push your doctor to answer your questions. I threw up for two years and lost weight which should have pointed my doctors to Cancer but it did not. I thought since I was having papsmears and endometrial biopsies I was covered. I should have pushed for an ultrasound.

Do you have similar symptoms with cancer as you would with an ovarian cyst?
Thank you,
Jaime

You need to walk as much as you can. I walked the halls for an hour. At home I walked even back and forth at night. It is the only way to work the gas out. I used a cheap walker I bought at a thrift store to lean on. Most of my pain was gas pain. It is unbelievable. They pump you with gas to operate.

It will be over soon. I am here. My husband had his first surgery last year. He likes bicycling. I had him think of every aspect of cycling. Getting his attire on, pumping up his bike tires, etc. The details are important because the brain can't think of two things at once well. He woke up from surgery with a smile. He said he had a great dream about riding in the Tour De France. It can be as simple as petting a favorite animal. Think about the fur, the sound it makes. Or is you have a child anything that makes you happy.

I have had so many surgeries and come out all with out complications and I now go in relaxed. The first one is always scary for anyone.

The surgery was not as bad as I thought and for me they took everything. Gas pain after surgery was the hardest part. Take large easy to put on clothes and slip on shoes. If they make a small incision it might be easier for you. Losing one Ovary does not effect you like losing both.

I hate hospitals too. I bring pictures of my favorite things such as my pets, vacation, my friends. I look at them whenever I start to get scared. I also have my I-pod. Anything to calm yourself makes surgery easier. Don't look and any needles think of your picture or a vacation you took anything that makes you happy.

I think of all the people who are taking care of me. I used to be a scared patient and I would get upset. Now I try to think of all these folks doing their jobs.

I do not know about the Ovary I lost both mine with surgery. With both gone cause night sweats.

I am sorry you are scared. It is very scary. All I can say is you are not alone even though you feel like it. Do you have a support system, Family and friends to help you through?
