Cyst

by manny'sgirl, Jun 27, 2006 12:00AM
I am pretty sure I have a cyst on my left Ovary.
I can't even lay down and when I tried to stand up this morning and get out of bed I was bent over with pain. I am standing straight up now but it even hurts when I breath in. I know that most of the time they go away. Should I wait it out a couple of more days? It does hurt if I bend over and get a toy or something for my son. I know it is a cyst because I had one on the right side about 4 years ago but that pain was not constant. That was only if I turned a certain way in bed and then it just went away. This one is a constant every minute reminder that I kow it is there. What do you think? Anyone else have this?

You know, nothing about breathing, but knife feeling, yes. What sort of cyst did you have last time? That could be the difference. As Im sure you know, many people have cysts and dont even know about it because there is no pain. Did your other one just go away? or surgery?

I have a cyst on my left ovary. The pain is not constant for me, but every once and a while. AT LEAST you should go to your dr... on your other cyst, did you have an ultrasound? You should probably have one on this. Keeping a watch on cysts, I hear, is very important. At the least, even if the cyst will go away, they can give you pain meds to keep the pain managable. Let me know if you have an ???s. This is all very new to me, but I know what it is like to have such aweful pain. Good Luck!!

Thanks for emailing me.

Yea, my other one just went away. The Dr. wanted me to take birth control pills to help it shrink but I didn't. It just went away. This thing is killing me. Even when I was driving my son to camp this morning, if I went over a bump, I felt it. Couple of days I figuring I am willing to give it. My husband is in Mexico on a movie and I am the only one running around with my little one. I can squezze in a Dr. visit if I am going to have to. I was just wondeering if anyone has had this kind of pain and then suddemy it leaves as fast as it has come. I had to take some pain killers yesterday. I couldn't even sleep last night.
This stinks.
Did yours just go away?

I guess none of us can guess your pain level, but after experiencing 2 cysts with torsion- it is excruciating pain. Both times it started out as dull pain - I thought I had bad gas with the first one. The second, I had back pain & frequent urination, and had to be on 800 mg of Motrin to deal. Both were torsion & I lost my ovary on one & almost lost it on the second. If that's not incentive for you to go to the doc, I don't know what is!!

OK, so I am going to give it till tomorrow. You have convinced me if it is not a bit better by tomorrow I am going to make an appointment. I mean it is not a matter of insurance. I hvae Screen Actors Guild so they cover everything. I just hate that ultrasound thing. I havn't even told my husband. With him being away, I don't want to worry him.
Thanks so much for your support. I can't tell you how much I appreiciate it.

Has anyone experienced when they lean on their stomach it hurts as well as the constant pain? I leaned against the counter to type and I was surprised by the extra pain I suddenly felt.

I would encourage you, especially that you are in so much pain and, for your peace of mind, to go as soon as you can if you could. The faster you go in the faster you get seen too. With cysts they do a watch and wait thing, and they go by your last u/s, with that particular cyst. I am having the same with what you have mentioned, breathing in and it hurts, lying on my stomach, it seems hard to find a position. I thought it was my septated cyst, I was surprised that it is more than that. My uterus needs to be taking out. I delayed in going, I had my pain since Jan. and my surgery is in August. I will pray that all goes well. Take care!!! Hugs!!!

OK so what do I do now. The pain is only like a 3 tiday. It went from like a 10 plus to a three today. See, that's why I waited. You still think I should go???? What is it that they found with you. Sounds exactly like the pain I had for the last 3 days. Especailly finding a place I could find to lay down. I had to lay down in the hardest position cause nothing else would help. When I tried to get up one morning I was really bad off. Then today almost nothing. I swear the pain was so bad the last three days I was starting to get things in order cause I thought I was going to hvae to go to the hospital.
Did your pain go away and then come back?
