Dermoid cyst removal and weightloss?

Is there a correlation between dermoid removal and weightloss? I had a 12cm dermoid removed from my right ovary back in march and ever since then I have been able to lose weight and keep it off much easier. I am curious as to if this is a positive effect of the removal. I haven't been able to find any info on this, and im not about to make an appointment to see the doctor for a curious question, but if anyone else has had a similar result or actually did ask their doctor, I would be interested in the conclusion!!
