Diagnosed with low grade papillary serous carcinoma. Stage 3c Ovarian cancer

I was diagnosed in November with serous carcinoma when I had a laparscopic surgery to remove endometriosis and an abdominal mass.  At that time they found cancer.  In January I had a full hysterectomy and will be receiving my first round of chemo on the 8th of Feb.  I am 28 years old and was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2004, I have had multiple surgeries, ultrasounds, labtests, etc and no one has found this until now.  And I am now stage 3c. THe only symptoms I have had is severe abdomnial pain for years that was shown to be my endo.  I have no family history and have had no other signs, even my CA125 has always been normal and is still normal.  What is your opinion on this?  Could I be misdiagnosed?  Why is my ca125 normal?  How am I going to know when it's gone?  Is this common in curing?  I just need other opinions.

A CA125 test does not diagnosis OvCa...there are many times that it is false positive and false negative.  It is best used in concert with other diagnositic tools and/or as a tool to mark recurrences, etc, in someone that is sensitive.
If they have biopsied the masses and have done staging surgery, then chances are the diagnosis is correct.
There will be many women that will come along and tell you that you can get through chemo, it is doable....but not always easy.
Good luck, hang in there...and if you need anything, know that we are here.

Hey darling.  Your case sounds very similar to mine.  As painful as the endometriosis was, it saved my life.  My endometriosis was so bad, when they did my hysterectomy they must not have paid too much attention to my ovaries.  Two weeks later I was told I had aggressive OC and needed to see a gyn-onc.  I was never staged; chose not to have a second surgery.  Treatment was the same regardless.

I'll be thinking of you as your first round of chemo approaches.  Please post if you have any questions.  It was nice for me to be able to talk to someone who had been in my shoes.
