Do you have to have a cyst to have ovarian cancer?

I have a golf ball sized cyst on my left ovary. My gyn. told me to come back in 6 weeks to evaluate it again. How big does it have to be in order to be concerned? Hoe big does it have to be to determine what kind of cyst it is?

Can you have ovarian cancer without having a cyst? If so, what are the symptons to look for?

i was wondering if i had a cyst,i havnt had my cycle since january 29 09 and it is now march 14 my symptoms are white discharge no smell no itch no burning,i had bachache but it stopped,my breast were tender but that has passed as well,ive been cramping but its very mild i have it lower abdominal,and tummy area both sides i am not bleeding or spotting and i wanted to know if it could be a cyst or what else could it be?i am 20 i have a son i had a misscarriage before him and an ectopic after him, but like i said it wouldnt be ectopic cuz im not in pain and i am not bleeding whatsoever thank you. daffy
