I've been reading over your discussions and messages and have been comparing my symptoms. I have extreme bloating, naeusia, lower back pain, instense sharp pain at the left overy and can actually feel a lump at times. I'm constantly tired and intercourse is very painful in certain positions. My lower belly and areas right below and to the left of the belly button are extremely sensitive and tender. I've had these symptoms for a few months now.
Two days ago, I noticed an cyst located right inside the labia to the left side.
I was very concerned at this point and went to the Dr. She wants to remove the small cyst in her office next week and send it for tests. She did not do an ultrasound, but instead felt around for the large lump in my lower abdomen. After locating it she pronounced it a hernia and wants me to have it moved laparoscopically (sp?)
I guess my question is, can a Dr. tell this without doing an ultrasound. I was concerned that it was an ovarian cyst. I have had 4 family members die of various cancers. My granmother was diagnosed once again 2 years ago with Breast Cancer after having been in remission for 20 years. I am very concerned about this lump, and have no idea if the Dr. is able to say "Yes it's hernia," without doing an ultrasound.
Hoping for some thoughts and comments. Thank you
