Doxil & Tumor Growth (Reuters Story)

Don't know if anyone caught the Reuters story about Doxorubicin (which Doxil uses) and how it may actually help tumors grow/spread.  Although the study was on Breast Cancer, it might be of interest to those on Doxil:

Alan, the way I read it, they are saying that chemo, radiation treatment, or the surgery may also cause other tumors to grow because it activates a specific compound TGF beta that promotes the growth of the other tumors.  I think Doxil was identified because it is used to treat breast cancer.  To me, cancer cure is multi focal and they are working on all the pieces of the puzzle, this is another one.  In the future cancer treatment will probably be very multi focal with chemotherapy and medications that utilize the immune system.  
When you read the side effects of all the drugs we take, cancer is one.

you are correct!  I posted that too late at night to mention that :)  It's fascinating what they are finding out about everything in the oncology field (which is a good thing).  

I also agree with you about the future and how treatment will be conducted!
