Doxil and a rash

Doxil and a rash

Hi, I was wondering with doxil-caelyx if anyone got a rash. I have a rash on my arm where I got the injection 2 weeks ago and also where my bra and panties are I got a rash. I guessing its from the friction, but what are you supposed to do, go without a bra? no thanks. Does anyone know how to get rid of this rash?

Hello... When I had 4 treatments of Caelyx (Doxil).. the Oncol. nurse told me before the first one, to dress with very loose fitting clothes, and to even leave off my bra, which I did, as anything tight would leave sort of brownish marks like suntan. This worked well, as I didn't have any marks on my body at all, and it was much more comfortable.
Hope the Caelyx works for you, as well as it did for me.
Best wishes...Helmar.

I had rashes as well - mainly around my midriff and diaghram, but also at the back of my neck and on my arms and the vaginal area - in other words areas which are enclosed, covered and warm.  Back of the neck was through sleeping on the area.  Not particularly itchy but I was only on Caelyx for 2 cycles so don't know if it would have got worse.  They faded quickly towards the end of each cycle.

I am on Doxil and also has a rash and it itches like crazy.  It is all over my legs an arms.  It's not as bad as it was in the beginning.  I have not had any new breakouts but it seems as thought when I take chemo they somehow get activated again.  Starts to itch and get sore.  I only have two about the size of a nickle that gets sore and itch and sometimes some type of liquid runs out of them.  I keep them covered with a band-aid to keep them moist so they won't itch and get dry.  I used shea butter, lotion, cream anything I can fine to keep them moist. The ones that are drying up looks like I have been burned.  I had a scan done Friday and the nurse who put a needle in my arm ask me if I had been burned with cigaretts.  She implied that my husband was burning me I told her no it was the chemo but it does looks like that.
