To Doctor,
Hi, I need some clarification on a couple of issues with borderline tumours. First of all, I was under the impression they are different to benign cells, some women have advised me theirs is being treated as benign? which goes against both my specialists one in Sydney and one is Brisbane Australia. Also what are the chances of the implants turning invasive? I currently have stage IIIA borderline serous tumor, stage III due to 5 spots in my pelvis area. Recently my ca125 has been increasing  from 12 to 150.(From nov- march) I am having a laporoscopy in 5 weeks and if implants are still non invasive my oncologist wants me to have children within 18monthsand then have a full hystorectomy and pelvic clearance. I am just wondering should i be doing the pelvic clearance sooner? Do you believe preganancy and IVF will increase my borderline growth? Also my oncologists said that nothing is certain with borderline tumours where as other women said their specialists have told them borderline cant turn invasive and that new cancerous tumours develop instead? (I thought this issue was still controversal with no evidence either way?)

Im just really struggling with living a normal life at the moment as I understand doctors cant give you definites but seriously living with borderline tumors has proven to be a very lonely road and the lack of knowledge and studies in this area is doing my head in as I feel i cant make informed decisions. I dont want to make rash ones as i want children yet i dont want any regrets either.

Also can your ca125 go up due to more non invasive implants? is that more common with borderline tumours that start out that way (nonivasive) ? or does it mean it has turned cancerous? It is doing my head in!
